Vida Rye is a registered Calmbirth® educator. She began working in the birthing world in London in 1998 as a doula (trained birth companion and support person after birth). After moving to NZ in 2002, Vida discovered Calmbirth® when pregnant with her first baby and then used the techniques to gently and joyfully birth both of her daughters at home. Vida trained as a Calmbirth® Educator in 2008 and has been sharing Calmbirth® in Wellington ever since.
It is best to do the Calmbirth® course some time between 24 - 36 weeks so you have more time to practice and consolidate what you learn, but women who have been as early as 20 weeks gestation, or as late as 39 weeks gestation, have still gained great benefit from attending this course. The course goes over one weekend and includes both days.
Venue: May be held via ZOOM (depending on the current situation with the Covid-19 virus). Vida facilitates the course and supports women in the Wellington region. Venue usually in Petone.
Times: Sat & Sun 9:15am-5:30pm
Cost: Early bird is $425 (payment before 4 weeks of course start) or full cost is $475.
At least the deposit of $100 is required to secure your place on the course.
Booking includes your partner or chosen birth companion attending too, plus a Calmbirth® class handbook and access to download of guided relaxations which you will receive at the end of the weekend. Group size is limited.
Bring your lunch or visit the local cafes.
Morning/afternoon tea and snacks provided.
